Master Mind Group
What is a Master Mind Group?
The Group: It consists of 3-5 like-minded, self-regulated, motivated individuals who help each other to attain their maximum potential in life. They are open in attitude, liberal in temperaments, and do not have any apprehension or doubt in the abilities of each one of them.
Goals: Members of the group will possess written down goals of all members. Research shows that written goals will have 60% more chances of achieving them. The time schedule to get the goals achieved also will be clearly spelled out and there will be no doubt among them that these goals are doable and achievable.
Napoleon Hill: Hill also specified this concept in his book “Think and Grow Rich”. He said, “The coordination of knowledge & efforts between two or more people who work and help each other towards achieving everyone’s success”. He recommends that we adopt this concept of the Master Mind Group for personal success.
Accountability: As per the study conducted, making one accountable for achieving the goal and sharing the accountability with close friends, increases the chance of achieving the goal by 76%.
Venue: The members of the group meet at a particular place at an appointed time on an appointed date, to discuss the various aspects of their progress in their careers. The meeting will normally be once a week or once in two weeks.
In-Person: Usually, the meeting will be in person which will last for about 60 min or a max of 90 min. Very rarely the meet will be done on Zoom or Skype. But the in-person meet is always recommended. Mostly, it will be a morning meeting coupled with breakfast.
Hot-Seat: The agenda of the meeting will be circulated in advance and one person will sit in the hot seat, meaning, for that week, the progress made by the person in the last week will be analyzed by all other members. If that person is struggling to make progress, then other people will give advice and solutions to his problems enabling that person to proceed to get success.
Solutions: They know well that for one problem there is not, only one right way, and hence the group will discuss all possible solutions. Perception or how one person looks at the issue varies from another · person’s point of view and hence, the member can explore many ways of solving the problem.
Sharpen the Saw: The discussion in this intimate session will be brainstorming. It will bring out the best in each one of them. Choosing the group member is done from among the network of close friends. Sometimes, a mentor is also a good choice. Nowadays, paid members are also available to join the group.
